About Us
Loders Community Energy Group is an initiative formed by the residents of Loders Parish, dedicated to creating a more sustainable and energy-efficient community. Originally established by the parish council, the group has recently transitioned into the hands of passionate local residents, with continued support from various local organizations. Our collective aim is to make Loders a model of renewable energy use and environmental stewardship.
Our Mission
At Loders Community Energy Group, our mission is to lower energy and heating bills, reduce carbon emissions, and promote a kinder footprint on the environment. We are focused on increasing the use of renewable energy sources within our parish, ensuring that everyone in our community can benefit from clean, sustainable energy to power and heat their homes and vehicles.
What We Do
We are committed to encouraging and supporting individual efforts to transition away from oil-based heating systems. Our initiatives include promoting better home insulation to minimize heat loss, facilitating the installation of rooftop solar panels with battery storage, advocating for the adoption of air source heat pumps, and enabling the use of electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Recognizing that not everyone can undertake these efforts independently, we are also exploring larger-scale community renewable energy projects, such as solar and small-scale wind installations, community heating systems, and shared EV charging facilities.
Our Vision
We envision a future where Loders Parish is self-sufficient in energy, with net-zero emissions and drastically reduced heating and electricity bills. By working together as a community, we believe that one day, Loders will not only meet its energy needs sustainably but also serve as an inspiring example for other communities.
